#IKEAbloggertour 2

ikea

Come ho scoperto queste cose? Allora seguitemi;)

Many years ago IKEA came into my home, but just three weeks ago, I was not aware of its history. I didn’t know that IKEA was the acronym of the founder’s name (Ingvar Kamprad) and of Elmtaryd and Agunnaryd, the farm and village where Kamprad grew up. I had no idea that IKEA was born in ’43, selling pens, watches, nylon stockings, etc. and only since ’48 furniture. And I didn’t even know the lovely town where the Swedish company has its headquarters: Älmhult. How did I know these things? Thanks to the great opportunity to visit the IKEA museum during our tour in Sweden. An exciting journey through old catalogs, vintage papers and beautiful environments with pieces from its origins to the present day. Through this experience I fully understand the gap that IKEA has scored in the design world. Curious? So, follow me;)

After this charming journey into the past, we have been projected into the future. Oh yes, we saw the collections that will be released in 2015 (and which I can’t show you at the moment) and the new headquarters of IKEA of Sweden, design center of the Swedish company. A bright and relaxing space that would make anyone smile. Just look at our faces in the last photo:)
