Handira

Purpose of the day: take a trip to Morocco as soon as possible. Oh yes, since, while my obsession for Moroccan Beni Ouarain rugs continues (I’ve already talked about them here, here and here), another Moroccan treasure enchanted me: the Handira blankets. Handmade by Berber women from the mountains of the Middle Atlas as auspicious gift for brides, they are pieces full of history and incredibly beautiful. I love the natural color and the texture of these blankets. And you can use them as bed covers, wall hangings, carpets or for dressing a sofa. Some examples?

If you like these blankets and aren’t planning a trip to Morocco, you can find them on Etsy or eBay.
